Practicing Democracy

At Community Democracy Project meetings, we set a full agenda and share it with the group, augmenting where necessary. Each item on the Agenda gets a facilitator, that way we shift roles throughout the meeting. We start every meeting with an icebreaker, and close with a wrap-up to help us be mindful of the various perspectives and personalities in the room. Our weekly meeting time is an important opportunity to share updates on various outreach and organizational endorsements, as well as coordination with various stakeholders, our supporters, and ultimately the people of Oakland we have the opportunity to meet.
